media release People of India can be saved from the dangers of tsunami through disaster warning by installing CCTV cameras in the Light House situated in the south end of The Andaman Islands and vigilantly watching whether tsunami is generated in the ocean. ******** The Andaman Islands are situated a thousand kilometers away from the eastern part of India and to the west of Indonesian Islands.  Hence, when tsunami waves are generated in the Indonesian region, these tsunamis s pread and strike the southern part Andaman Islands first, before they reach India. For example, the tsunami which shook the entire South Asia on 26.12.2004 too, after it washed the southernmost point of the Andaman Islands known as Indira Point, traveled in the ocean for one and a half hours before striking the eastern part of India.
